About Me
Originally from New Orleans, La., I’m a lens-based artist concerned with documenting as a means of social and political preservation. My upbringing in a city filled with an immensity of cultural and influential diversity has inspired my work to be concerned with the intersections of identity and the effects brought about by social and political matters. My work makes use of moving image, video, digital photography, and film photography with an emphasis on the latter. My intrigue with film photography comes both from a love of the process but also from a desire to capture images or moments that I believe are longstanding and juxtapose them with an archival process which has proven to be just as persistent. Through these processes, I am concerned with the creation of interpersonal and introspective relationships that arise by producing and displaying imagery.
